The History of Race/Ethnicity Philosophy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_definitions_of_race#Ancient_Greek_theories

It is interesting to me how what we think of race today was so constructed by so many over the years. You should all read a bit of this if you want your minds to be bent.

  1. I was so intrigued by the idea that race was not really thought of until imperialism when groups of people needed ways to validate the maltreatment of others.

  2. I agree, this article is very interesting. I really enjoyed the collision of religion and science trying to explain the same concept and how there seemed to be good and bad about both topics. I really enjoyed the idea that different races came from different Adams. I had never heard this idea in a religious perspective and found it really new and fascinating.
